FE Simulation of Split in Fundamental Air-Cavity Mode of Loaded Tires: Comparison with Empirical Results

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Tire/road noise has become a significant issue in the automotive industry, especially for electric vehicles. Among various tire/road sources, air-cavity mode can amplify forces transmitted from tire to suspension system causing noticeable cabin near 200 Hz. Furthermore, when is deformed by loading, fundamental separates into two acoustic modes, fore-aft and vertical due break geometrical symmetry. This important because components of split increase force levels at hub interacting with neighboring structural thus resulting increased interior levels. In this research, finite element simulations five commercial tires rated load were performed view identifying frequency its interaction resonances. These results have been compared previously obtained empirical results. Both mobility dispersion diagrams reveal similar patterns as testing. Further, three tires, relation between applied was investigated, indicating that enlarged level higher order function load.</div></div>
